BTW, Spaceman itself is essentially a stretched out EF Handel Gothic. I’ll bet the designer started with that or another version of Handel Gothic.3 -

Totally agree with Nick's last paragraph. Spaceman is not exactly a rare concept. Its basic shapes can be seen in many typefaces (e.g., Lustra, Changeling, Paragraph Stretch, Design System, FF Tradem…6 -
